2022 Crestwood

Turkey Trot

This Thanksgiving Day, join us for the 7th Annual Crestwood Turkey Trot 5k fun run/1 mile walk!

Before the feast, meet your neighbors for some exercise and friendly competition. All proceeds from the Turkey Trot will go to the Carter Barron Alliance, a network of arts, parks, historic preservation, philanthropic, and community groups that are working together to support the timely, complete revitalization of the Carter Barron Amphitheater.

The Crestwood Turkey Trot will feature a 1 mile family run/walk (strollers and wagons welcome) and a 5k fun run. We will begin at  9:00 am at the Triangle at 18th & Argyle.

Paid registration includes a Crestwood Turkey Trot t-shirt - to be picked up at the starting line (while supplies last). Come early to ensure you receive a t-shirt - we run out of shirts quickly.

Registration is $25 per person, online only. Kids age 5 and under are free and do not need to register, but do not receive a shirt. There will be no on-site registration, please plan ahead and register online in advance.

New this Year: please consider donating to Food Justice DMV by dropping off culturally appropriate food items across the street from the Triangle at 4370 Argyle Terrace NW. Collected items will be distributed to Latinx families who are undocumented or asylum seekers for Thanksgiving. Needed items: beans (3-5 lb bags), rice (3-5 lb bags), Maseca (corn flour available in Giant and Safeway) and oil (largest bottle possible oil, canola, avocado). Repurposed plastic and paper bags are always needed to deliver the food.

All proceeds from this event will benefit the Carter Barron Alliance.

The Alliance is a program/project of the Rock Creek Conservancy; our donation will be restricted to the purposes of the Alliance.

The Carter Barron Amphitheater originally opened to celebrate the District’s 150th anniversary as the nation’s capital. It is time for diverse and affordable programming to return to this unique space. Let’s reopen the Carter Barron for America’s 250th birthday in 2026.

This website and the Crestwood Citizens Association is supported by the dues of CCA members. Membership has its benefits including access to members-only resources and the knowledge that you are supporting a great neighborhood!
